Therefore, there is a risk of mycoplasma contamination in the process of cell culture. Mycoplasma contamination will seriously affect the reliability, repeatability and consistency of experimental results, so the detection of mycoplasma contamination is very important.
Bacterial, yeast, or mold contamination during cell culture is visible under light microscopy, but mycoplasma contamination is usually not visible under light microscopy and must be detected by specific detection methods.
